Professionally, Matt Evers holds a rare combination of laurels, being both a world class athlete in figure skating and a nationally known broadcasting talent. His credits began with traveling the world with the United States Figure Skating Team for 4 years, and have developed to include many major projects as an actor and a broadcaster.
In 1998 at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Matt Evers won (with partner Heather Allebach) the U.S. Junior Pair Championships. They continued their pair skating successes by representing the United States across the world for the next 4 years.
After being ranked in the top 15 in the world and top 5 in the US. 2001, Matt turned professional and continues to work as a performer with skating talent such as Dorothy Hamil, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Brian Boitano.
In the summer of 2000, Matt began his broadcasting and emcee career in New York City, being hired for a number of industrials, TV commercials, a touring skating show, and spokes modeling tradeshows for numerous national clients like P&G and Samsung.
In 2001 Matt a moved to Los Angeles to expand his television career. He soon met with success, there, too, hosting CMT’s first ever reality show “CowboyU”. Combining his acting/broadcasting talents and skating expertise, Matt hosted the premier Live event “Legends On Ice” starring Dorothy Hamil and Elvis Stoyko here in Los Angeles and then at Caesars’ Palace, Las Vegas. Spring 2005, Matt co-hosted “On the Fly…” a destination fly fishing pilot for the Travel Channel.
Since 2006, Matt’s toured with Torvill and Dean’s massive hit television show “Dancing On Ice”, partnering Bonnie Langford (UK series 1) and Lara Bingle (Australia Series 1) both making it to the finals and placing 3rd. UK Series 2 of DOI Matt trained and performed with pop princess Lisa Scott Lee. Matt then went on to win the third series of ‘Dancing On Ice’ with Suzanne Shaw. Series 4 he taught and performed with Zoe Salmon and this years 5th series is bound to be another huge success and ratings magnet. The show is currently being viewed by over 14 million UK viewers each week.
Matt’s been featured in numerous magazines, new papers and websites over the past 5 years and is the only professional skater to appear in ALL of Torvil and Dean’s televised celebrity skating shows.
The winter of 2009, Matt became the “voice” of America’s NBC television network and emcee’d a couple of their primetime entertainment shows.metime entertainment shows.
